SHODDY
Fairfield School, together with artist Jane Howroyd worked collaboratively to create a sculpture based on the shoddy industry in West Yorkshire giving children the opportunity to learn about textiles whilst working together with an artist to create this sculpture.
Jane Howroyd is an artist with a strong foundation in textiles including a Masters degree in knitted textile design and a PhD developing novel cleaning technologies. She has over 20 years experience working as a workshop facilitator, delivering creative, historical, textile, craft and food sessions to a variety of audiences including youth groups, schools, adults and family groups.
