URBAN WALLPAPER

As part of the Children's Biennale in Kirklees; Urban Wallpaper is a printed conversation from town to town and between student to student. 

Young people from Huddersfield New College and Upper Batley High School worked with professional artist printmakers to collaboratively develop their own designs and realise them as block printed wallpaper lengths. 

Taking wallpaper out of its domestic setting and into the urban environment; those involved were able to creatively tell local stories, build visual narratives about their experiences over the last 12 months, and share the voices heard and unheard from within their communities and family units.
