CREATING NEW ELECTRONIC MUSIC

hcmf// worked with the Brunswick Centre’s LGBT Youth Group on a project that saw the participants create original electronic music tracks to accompany texts that they have already created relating to personal identity.

Over the course of one day, the young people participating in the project were guided by electronic music expert, Frazer Merrick, in how to use free online music apps which they then used to create original pieces of new music. They then set texts that they had already created on a previous writing project to these pieces of music. The pieces have been compiled by hcmf// and released on Bandcamp with all proceeds from any sales going to the charity of the Youth Group’s choice.

These sessions were all led online by Frazer and with support from local sound artist, Charlotte Roe.
