MOULDING MEMORIES

Through creative writing, drawing and collage, this project supported children and young people across Kirklees to tell their stories and explore their feelings about Covid-19.

Their creative work was pulped and turned into 'memory blocks'.  Each block acts like a time capsule of individual feelings and experiences. Together the blocks have become a large installation reflecting the universal experience of children and young people during the pandemic.

Gathering together the experiences of children in Kirklees, Moulding Memories acts as a moment captured and also as a cathartic release that helps with well-being and recovery.

We are proud to announce that Moulding Memories has been accepted in the 2021 Royal Academy of Arts Young Artists Summer Show.
