GROWING COLOUR TOGETHER: WINDOW TRAIL

The Growing Colour Together window trail was commissioned by Woven in Kirklees as part of their 2021 textiles celebrations.

The trail of 4 windows around the Piazza Shopping Centre shows the process of natural dyeing from dye plants to dyed fabric. Artist Isobel Denton from Abitmoreink worked with children from The Children’s Art School and Thurstonland First School to explore natural dye processes and create artworks to become part of the window trail.

A team of young Our Biennale volunteers aged 14 – 21 supported the creation of the trail by tracing and embellishing the illustrations by Ruth Dyer and working alongside Isobel to bring her designs to life.
An activity book for children has been created to accompany the window trail.
You can collect your activity book from Maker World.
